look into travel cards/passes I got a Swiss Pass so was able to pay half fare on trains and buses, also if you can buy a supersaver ticket using the SBB app or website. Also some Migros and Coop's have restaurants attached which are pretty cheap if you want hot food. It may also work out cheaper to stay outside a city then use public transport to go to the places you want to see. If you do stay in a city a lot of places offer passes for transport, museums etc.

Jutta Maier says:

Hitchhike! Works fine, especially in the Alps.

Eisen J Eisen says:

oKuuma says:

I might get a job in Switzerland and I'm sooo excited! :D

Treehe says:

Do not buy anything in the kiosks directly at the station.
Go to "Migros Shopping Center" and buy only things that are labeled "Budget". Or go to the "Coop Shopping Center" and buy only things that are labeled "PR!X Garantie". Also buy only things in the shelf stand at the top or bottom. Most railway day tickets are 50% reduction for mountain railways, show the day ticket to the seller. City tickets entitle you to use the buses and trams in the city center

Muhammad AMJ Yaqoobzai says:

The Train fair is exactly the same for all Reginal, Inter city or Euro city; the only Difference is the Time it takes to reach its Destination.
Nothing is cheap even at the Supermarkets too.

L Forni says:

per viaggiare così al risparmio stai a casa tua.

Maurice Upton says:

Always cheaper to eat from the supermarket any where.

Ian McDermott says:

No real advice here, just plain common sense…..Yes, food in a Supermarket is cheaper than a restaurant lol.
